It's no surprise there are a magnitude of different forces placed on the body depending on the activity you are undertaking, and as a result different strength demands your body is required to produce.
These strengths include; agility, endurance, explosive strength, maximum strength, speed, relative strength and starting strength.
WHAT IS THE ONE THING ALL THESE STRENGTHS HAVE IN COMMON?
No matter how hard you train, no matter how healthy you eat, no matter how strong your mind is, the one factor that will limit any strength, is the alignment of your body.
WHY IS STRENGTH LIMITED BY ALIGNMENT OF THE BODY?
The body works as a unit; to keep you balanced from left to right, front to back.
The body is made up of many systems, including; Musculoskeletal System, Nervous System, Cardiovascular System, Digestive System, Respiratory System, Metabolic System, Immune System. Each system relies on another system to do its job.
WHAT IMPACT DOES ALIGNMENT OF THE BODY (MUSCULOSKELETAL SYSTEM) HAVE ON THE OTHER SYSTEMS?
Postural alignment dictates the position of internal organs, blood vessels, and nerves. If the body has any deviation from correct alignment, this can create a restriction preventing normal function of another system. For example, if blood flow is inhibited, delivery of oxygen and nutrients to muscles is therefore inhibited.
Another example; that focuses on breathing. If you were to do the following two steps you will notice the difference in how much easier it is to get more oxygen into your body.
If you were to sit down, slumped over, shoulders forward, head down and try to breathe in, then
Sit up straight, head up, shoulders back and breathe in again.
You would have noticed that position two was easier to get more oxygen into your body.
The closer your body is to its correct alignment, the greater the ability for every system in your body to function at its optimum, and ultimately allow your body to do what it does best.
The body is organic; in a constant state of growth/rebirth. All muscles, bones, nerves, connective tissues and cartilage are all alive. If the body is not renewing, it is because there is a violation of the laws of physical health.
WHAT IS CORRECT POSTURAL ALIGNMENT?
Correct posture, should more importantly be referred to as, 'Functional Design Posture'. This is the posture, or position of the musculoskeletal system when functioning at its optimum.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO SEE A CHANGE?
Every body is different, different activities, different dysfunctions, different compensations and level of function requirements is different so its not an exact time frame. Each individual may also have a different outcome/goal. However, the vast majority will be able to feel a difference after their first visit.
So while we focus on the individual, and personalise sessions It is common that we will see someone for 8 - 16 visits and then only see them for maintenance check ups a 2-3 times a year.
It is important here to remember, that this is a process and we are working at correcting structural dysfunctions and compensations that you have had for decades. Rome wasnt built in a day, but here at inner SISU, we are committed to helping you achieve lasting change.
